Superintendent’s Corner: Dr. Enos Shares His Thoughts
Happy New Year, Tiger Family! I hope you and your loved ones enjoyed a restful holiday season and are feeling recharged as we begin an exciting new year together at Gunter ISD.
As we turn the calendar to January, I’m proud to share that great things continue to happen across our district. Even while students and staff enjoyed a well-deserved break, progress didn’t slow down. Several important facility projects moved forward, including ongoing renovations to our middle school bathrooms and updates to our administration building, investments that will improve daily experiences for students, staff, and families for years to come. We’re also continuing planning efforts connected to future growth and infrastructure, ensuring Gunter ISD stays ahead of the curve while maintaining the small-town excellence we value.
We’re equally excited about the strength of our people. Our district continues to attract outstanding professionals who believe in our mission and our kids. From classroom instruction to fine arts, safety, and student support, the Tiger team remains focused on providing a safe, supportive, and high-achieving environment for every student, every day.
Beyond our campuses, we’re working closely with community partners on improvements that affect our families directly, including traffic and roadway planning near our schools. These efforts reflect what makes Gunter special, strong collaboration, shared responsibility, and a community that puts kids first.
As we begin the spring semester, I want to thank our staff for their dedication, our students for their hard work, and our parents and community members for the unwavering support you show our schools. Gunter ISD truly is something special, and I’m confident that the months ahead will bring even more opportunities to celebrate Tiger success.
Here’s to a strong start to 2026 and another outstanding semester in the best school district in Texas!
Proud to be your superintendent, Brandon Enos, Ed.D. Superintendent, Gunter ISD

Students in Mrs. Smith's 5th-grade class took their math skills to the kitchen and had a delicious hands-on experience with fractions! For this project, each student selected a recipe that included at least 4 different fractions. They then tripled the recipe to practice their fraction multiplication skills.
After carefully measuring, mixing, and baking, the students brought their creations into class to share with their classmates. It was a tasty way to learn, collaborate, and apply math in real life. The best part? Everyone got to enjoy the sweet (and savory!) results of their hard work.
Great job, 5th graders—way to make math irresistible!

STEM Students Engineer Santa’s Toy Factory |
Mrs. Bullard's STEM classes have been busy learning all about simple machines and then putting that knowledge to work in a fun and festive way! Students combined two simple machines to design and build a toy factory machine that could help Santa move heavy toys into his bag.
With a limited budget and specific material constraints, students rose to the challenge by creating machines that were both creative and functional. Their teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering skills were on full display. We think Santa would definitely approve!

Tech Apps Students Bring CAD Designs to Life |
|
|
Mrs. Clement's middle school Tech Apps students have been exploring CAD and 3-D design with hands-on learning. The unit began with a visit from Mr. John Kanouse, who introduced 3-D printing and shared examples with students.
Using these skills, students designed their own “perfect pumpkin patch,” then took a research trip to Preston Trails Big Orange Pumpkin Farm to see a real operation in action. Students learned about how the farm runs from Mr. Rick Nevil, asked thoughtful questions, and enjoyed highlights like the animals and hay maze.
To wrap up the unit, students designed Christmas ornaments that were 3-D printed by Mr. Kanouse. They were thrilled to see their designs come to life. Thank you to Mr. Kanouse and Preston Trails for helping make this a memorable learning experience!
